I'm so disappointed they had to close. This was my favorite Chinese restaurant in OC, and I grew up on SF's Chinatown restaurants. Is there anywhere good to go (not Panda Express or PF Chang) now?
This place was our go to Chinese food restaurant for the past 25 years. The owners were forced to close it down due to a very high rent increase. The new owners first told them that they were going to renovate their kitchen due to outdated equipment. Next thing we know, they permanently close. What a loss to the city and community.
We went there today and the sign said permanently closed. So sad. It was the best Chinese food in Orange County. Can they move to a smaller location and just do takeout? Please!!!
I am heartbroken. I can't believe rent was so high and non-negotiable that Peking Kitchen had to close. This was my favorite place to enjoy family time over a delicious meal while visiting Novem & Tony. I am so sad!
Info Alert. The PK will be closed until June 19th for kitchen repairs. Its not closing just to reassure everyone.
This wonderful establishment has been here for so many years. The same owners and always good quality. It's not necessarily fancy boogie Chinese food but it's very solid dependable and done well. Everything done to order. It's very pleasant and nice. The staff is very respectful and courteous.
Reassuringly old school. Plastic serving plates with Chinese patterns. Red woven Chinese characters on the wall. The ?owner said they'd been there for 35 years. She's darling. Very friendly, seems to know some of the customers by sight. The food is good, not extraordinary but things you can depend on. Fried rice, Fried noodles, egg rolls. At this price point - $12.95 for beef with snow peas lo mien. Chicken fried rice (enough for 4 as a side dish) 11.95. It was a tiny bit worrisome that we were the only customers at 1pm on a Sunday but it got a lot fuller while we were there. It's not "top notch" or fancy but comfort food at a good price.
I can here for dinner and it is a great place with a variety of food. I got several plates and I was able to share. The service was great and the people are helpful. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.
A hole in the wall spot that WILL NOT disappoint you!! Very delicious food with amazing flavor and great value! Extremely friendly staff! I highly recommend giving this place a shot!!
